Nancy and Adrian have just left after a week of checking out our life over here in Manila. We went to Charlie's school concert, a beautiful restaurant called the Goose Station and a great holiday on Palawan Island. We went to see the underground river in Sabang which is in Palawan - it was well worth it - the mangrove tour is beautiful. Palawan has been left relatively unscathed by tourism - it was a great contrast to Boracay and such wild beautiful topography. I think we will go back!
The Morton and Fuller families had collected some money to donate to charity at Christmas time so we went out to Kaibigan Centre in Pasay which has a water Station attached to a refuge for street dwellers. It is a Non government org giving access to food and washing facilites to people that live on the street. They are allowed to stay overnight only if they are sick. 5 children had just been brought in - having been found begging on the streets as their parents had abandoned them. It was a really interesting visit and they appreciated the money donated by the Fullers/ Mortons - it was going to go directly into medicine for a couple of the street dwellers who have tuberculosis and breast cancer. There is no end to people you can help over here..
